WEBSITE SETUP GUIDE
Your Website Is the Missing Piece
You signed up for SPA AI SEO because you want your spa or medspa to show up when people search Google and ask AI tools like ChatGPT for recommendations. Your Google Business Profile is being optimized automatically — posts are going out, reviews are being responded to, videos are publishing, and your directory listings are syncing.
But there’s one piece of the puzzle that the system can’t do on its own: adding a few small pieces of code to your website.
This is the step that most spa and medspa owners skip — and it’s the one that makes the biggest difference for AI search visibility. When Google, ChatGPT, Gemini, or Perplexity sends a crawler to your website, they’re not reading every word on every page. They’re reading your structured data — your schema markup — and looking for signals like fresh reviews, recent content, and helpful FAQs. Without these elements on your site, AI tools literally can’t understand what your business offers.
This guide walks you through exactly what needs to go on your website, where it goes, and how to install it. You can do this yourself or forward this page to your web developer.
IMPORTANT: If you chose our Concierge Setup, we handle all of this for you. This guide is for clients who are doing it themselves or want their developer to do it.
What Fresh Website Content Does for Your Rankings
When someone visits your spa or medspa’s website and sees recent reviews, new photos, updated posts, and helpful FAQs, two things happen:
They trust you faster and are more likely to call or book — because your business looks active and current
Google and AI tools see that real people find your website useful, which means they're more likely to recommend you in search results
On the other hand, when a website looks the same as it did six months ago — no recent activity, no social proof, no new content — visitors assume the business isn’t active. And search engines draw the same conclusion.
SPA AI SEO solves this by giving you widgets you embed once on your site. They auto-update as your system creates new content, publishes new posts, earns new reviews, and generates new FAQs. You install them once and never touch them again.
BEFORE YOU START
Two Quick Things to Know
Make Sure You Can Edit Your Website
You’ll need access to your website platform (Squarespace, WordPress, Wix, Shopify, etc.). If someone else manages your site, just forward them this page with a note that says:
“Please install these code snippets on our homepage.”
There Are Two Types of Code You’ll Be Working With
- “Place this code where you want it to appear” — this is the most common. You paste a snippet into a section of your page and the widget shows up right there.
- “Add this to your HEAD section + place this code on the page” — some widgets require a small script in your website’s head section plus a second snippet where you want it to display.
Your SPA AI SEO dashboard will show you the exact code and instructions for each widget. Follow whatever it shows you — this guide explains the concepts and placement strategy.
WHERE EVERYTHING GOES
Quick Reference: What Goes Where
Here’s the recommended placement for each element on your homepage:
Schema Markup
Invisible to visitors, critical for search engines and AI
HEAD section
Reviews Widget
Just below your hero section
Top half of homepage
Image Gallery Widget
Showcase your space and results
Middle of homepage
Recent Posts Widget
Show your latest updates
Lower portion of homepage
FAQ Widget
Above your footer
Near the bottom
Think of it this way: someone lands on your homepage and sees recent reviews (trust), then scrolls to see your space and work (proof), then sees your latest updates (activity), then finds answers to their questions (education). That's a conversion-optimized experience.
THE MOST IMPORTANT ONE
Schema Markup: Your Business’s DNA for Search Engines and AI
What is it?
Schema markup is a special piece of code that tells Google, ChatGPT, Gemini, and other AI platforms exactly what your business is — in a format they understand perfectly. Think of it as your spa or medspa’s digital DNA. It includes your business name, services, location, hours, contact info, and other key details in a structured format that search engines and AI bots can read instantly.
Why it matters so much
When AI tools send a crawler to your website, most of the time they’re not reading your entire site word by word. They’re reading your schema. If you don’t have it, these platforms are guessing about your business based on fragments. If you do have it, they understand you clearly and are far more likely to recommend you.
This is the single most impactful thing you can add to your website for AI search visibility.
How To Install It
Log into your SPA AI SEO dashboard
Go to the Website & AI SEO section
Copy the schema markup code
Paste it into the HEAD section of your homepage
Save and publish
IMPORTANT
You should only have one set of schema markup on your website. If you already have schema from another tool or plugin, remove the old one and keep the SPA AI SEO version — it's designed to be extremely complete and aligned with schema.org formatting standards.
The schema code goes in the
<head>
section of the homepage (or site-wide head if the platform does that). It's a JSON-LD script block. Do not place it in the body. Remove any existing LocalBusiness or Organization schema to avoid conflicts.
Reviews are one of the fastest ways to build trust. When someone lands on your spa or medspa's website and immediately sees real 5-star feedback from clients, it lowers their hesitation and makes them more likely to book.
Shows your Google reviews in formats like carousels, badges, banners, or pop-ups
WHERE TO PLACE IT
Homepage, above the fold or just below your hero section. Also works well on individual service pages (e.g., your Botox page, your HydraFacial page).

Most spa and medspa websites have a blog section that hasn't been updated in months (or years). That makes the whole site feel stale. The Recent Posts widget fixes this automatically — it displays your latest SPA AI SEO posts right on your homepage so your website always looks active.

FAQs help in two ways. First, they answer the questions your potential clients are asking before they book — things like "How long does Botox last?" or "What's the recovery time for microneedling?" Second, and more importantly, FAQs in the right format are exactly what AI tools like ChatGPT and Gemini read to understand what your business offers. This is one of the primary ways AI search decides whether to recommend you.

Troubleshooting
Quick Fixes
Widget isn't showing up?
- Make sure you pasted the full code (no missing characters)
- If the widget requires a HEAD script, confirm it's installed in your site settings
- Clear your browser cache or try an incognito/private window
- On WordPress, clear any caching plugins
Spacing looks off?
- Put the widget in its own section or block — don't nest it inside other elements
- Add padding above and below in your website editor
Content isn't updating?
- Give it a few hours. Some widgets load dynamically and there can be a delay between Google and your dashboard
Still stuck?
